Range of Services

Lagan Valley Rural Transport provides a range of transport service options tailored to suit individual and group travel requirements:

For individuals there are the Dial a Lift and Social Car schemes providing door to door travel, either in LVRT minibuses or by car with vetted volunteers.

For groups, our accessible 15/16 seater minibuses are available for hire either with a LVRT driver or on a hire without driver. We also operate smaller fully accessible 9 seater minibuses that are available for small group hire. Please note that all drivers must hold a valid Midas certificate and be registered with Lagan Valley Rural Transport.

How can I use Dial A Lift?

To use Dial A Lift, you must be a member of Lagan Valley Rural Transport. Membership is £5.00 per year.  Registration for Dial A Lift is free.  To receive a membership form please contact LVRT on:

How much will it cost to use this service?

  • 0-5 miles = £3.00 each way
  • 5-10 miles = £4.00 each way
  • 10-15 miles = £5.00 each way
  • 15-20 miles = £6.50 each way
  • 20-25 miles = £7.50 each way
  • 25-30 miles  = £8.50 each way
  • 30+ as above plus 30p per mile

When is the service available?

Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm.  Restrictions can apply during Public Holidays.

How do I make a booking?

Bookings can be made by contacting Lagan Valley Rural Transport on 02892 622030.

Booking hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 3.30pm.  All bookings are to be made by 12:00pm two working days before travel.  Bookings will not be taken outside office hours under any circumstances. We close for lunch between 12.00pm & 1.00pm for 30 minutes.

Available from 1st December 2009, Dial A Lift is a door-to-door service which is supported with yearly funding from the Department for Infrastructure (DFI), this service is for individuals living in the rural Lisburn area who have difficulty accessing transport.

It can be used for a variety of purposes including:

  • Shopping
  • Doctor and Health Centre appointments
  • Hairdressers
  • Chemist
  • Post Office
  • Local hospital visiting
  • Visiting family and friends

You can also use the service to access training or recreational activities or even just to visit friends or family.

Who can use these services?

To be a member of Dial A Lift you must meet the following criteria:

  • Live in a rural area; i.e. an area not covered by the Urban Door to Door scheme.
  • Have difficulty accessing everyday services due to lack of transport
